You're right. I've just double checked and the first track is Uncle Arthur. I think I was maybe confusing the album David Bowie with a complilation album of the great man's early stuff a mate had back in the 80s. I think that started with Rubber Band

I'm a massive David Bowie fan, and I know it's subjective and all that, but come on - calling Rubber Band a great song is a bit of a stretch!
And it's not even the first track as far as I remember!
